          I surrendered to God's call to full-time ministry my junior year at Baylor University while working on my Business degree.  Upon graduation, I went to Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary to pursue a Master of Divinity degree.  While there, I met Melanie in a church parking lot (she was also working on her master's degree).  We were married in August of 1992. Together, we have followed the path the Lord has set before us.  He has blessed us with 3 kids (Robby, Katie Beth and Cody).           
          God has given me a passion to train national pastors around the world.  He has opened doors for me to travel to and teach in many different countries to fulfill this passion.  My God-given desire for Bethabara Baptist Church is to know Christ and make Him known.

Minister of Music: Rev. Dan Blankenship
After literally growing up at Briarlake Baptist in Decatur, GA and being saved at a young age, I surrendered to the Lord’s call to ministry over 17 years ago and have worn many “hats” serving the church, primarily in the area of music and worship. As a worship leader, I have sought to prompt the congregation to worship God in simple response of who He is and for what He has done.
I have been married to Cindy Fry Blankenship since 1980 and together we have served churches in north and south Georgia. We are blessed with two children, Seth and Ashley.
A couple of musical accomplishments are singing the National Anthem for the Georgia Special Olympics and my favorite team, the Atlanta Falcons. I also am a member of the Sons of Jubal singing men of the Georgia Baptist Convention. I studied business at Georgia State University and Christian Studies at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary.
Following my sports teams, reading, working in the yard, and tinkering with my old Chevy truck keep me occupied, but right now, the most pleasure comes from leading the wonderful folks at Bethabara Baptist Church in worshiping our awesome God every Sunday!
